Liquid silicone rubber injection molding is a process that uses an injection machine to convert liquid silicone rubber (LSR) from liquid to solid silicone rubber products.
Liquid silicone rubber (LSR) can be processed using the liquid injection molding (LlM) process.The liquid raw material consists of two separate components mixed in a 1:1 ratio and injected into the hot mold through a cold runner system.Curing occurs within seconds, providing the advantages of fast cycle times and high-volumeproduction.

The Liquid Silicone Rubber Injection Molding Process
1. Prepare Raw Material
LSR usually consists of two components, pigment, and additives (fillers for example), depending on the desired properties of the final product. In this step, the ingredients of the mixture are homogenized and can be combined with the temperature stabilization system for a better control of silicone temperature (ambient temperature or silicone preheating).
2. Program
Automatic injection molding machines are custom programmed to deliver the right injection volume for each product. Align the platen and piston and close the mold, adjust temperature, pressure, injection rate and cycle time for production.
3. Injection molding
Once set up, the molds are heated to the appropriate temperature and the clamping force is applied, with the syringe, pump and supply turned off, the liquid silicone material is injected into each cavity of the mold, where they are solidified by high temperature and pressure.
4. Demolding
Products are cooled within the mold, the mold is opened and demoulded, and finally cooled. They are removed and separated by automated robotic part removal systems, partially by workers.
